I am officially in my 17th week now! I will say the nerves have slowed a bit since our genetic testing ultrasound at 12 weeks but I still can’t help but worry . I think this is normal for any pregnant woman especially after miscarriage but I’ve decided to try and enjoy this as much as I can. So far everything with baby 2 looks great. The genetic testing all came back showing a healthy baby with results within a safe zone. We couldn’t be happier to hear that news! I am still anxious to see baby at the anatomy scan and confirm that everything does indeed look good. Staying positive can be hard but I am doing it!
The biggest change since my last post of the first trimester recap is that I finally am feeling good! I have severe nausea and frequent sickness in the first 13 weeks and as I entered my 14th week I started to feel mostly normal again. It’s funny how the switch can just happen. I honestly had no idea if and when the nausea and sickness would end. I still feel nauseous here and there but nothing like it was before.
I am starting to see more of a bump morning and night. Of course at night the bump is bigger after eating all day . I’m VERY thirsty most of the time and i’m still peeing a lot.

What’s coming up:
We scheduled our anatomy scan ! It is coming up in the next couple weeks! We do plan to find out the sex of the baby and we plan to do a small reveal as a family at home together. I will be sure to share the news once we find out ourselves.
Right around the time of when the anatomy scan takes place coincides with our baby moon to Florida. We go at the very end of March ! Jeff and I are SO excited to get away somewhere warm and spend quality time together. We will miss Cameron but he will be having so much fun with my mom while we are away. We both know it is a top priority to get in some mama and dada alone time together before baby 2 comes at the end of summer! I can’t wait to take you guys along on our trip to 30a Florida. We are planning to rent a car and explore the little beach towns along the route of 30a.
How I’m feeling
I feel good! I finally feel “normal” again. I have recently started to feel flutters but no real kicks. I have an anterior placenta again ( this just means the placenta is in front ) i’ll probably feel kicks a little later but the doctor guesses between 18-19 weeks! I felt Cam kick around then too! We know baby is super active so i’m sure it will be any day.
I feel happy but nervous still. I think that is normal! I am getting really excited to see baby again and watch my stomach grow. I just can’t believe we are now in the 17th week and doing well!
I’m been more emotional this past week but with happy emotion- excitement for the future and welcoming another baby to our family. I can’t wait for Cam to have a built in buddy every day!
I am feeling nausea super sporadically and nothing like the first 14 weeks.
I am more tired at the end of the day than I was in the first trimester
I am craving sweets still but also salty things like pickles, salsa and sushi!
My hair is still greasy and dry- go figure!
I’m starting to feel itchy so I’m applying lotion and homemade serums daily to curb the itch!
Sweater and chambray shirt are old but here are similar ones
