Switching up your throw pillows is fun but knowing how to mix and match them can be tricky. Changing out your pillows is an easy and impactful way to reinvent a space without getting new furniture. I often buy just pillow covers so I can rotate them when I feel like I need a change . I also have seasonal covers that are fun to bring out around the holidays or when the summer months come around.

GREAT FALL OPTIONS TOO
Below I have rounded up some major throw pillow inspiration. I asked a few of my home decor buddies to share some of their favorite pillows in their homes. Keep scrolling for beautiful ideas on ways to style your throw pillows!
I love using throw pillows in any space I want to add texture or some color ( even if that color is white!)
Bench: I love adding fun pillow covers to my DIY hairpin leg bench or white benches to add softness and texture to the space. They also add a focal point for the wall the bench is against.
Bed: Pull together bedding with pillows that add texture , softness or a pop of print.
Couch: functional and pretty pillows can add a lot to a couch. They can also disguise a couch you don’t love and make it a better version of itself!
Chair: Pillow covers decorate a basic chair and also add softness to it.
Floor: floor pillows are great to add extra seating and playful touches to a space
I’ve enlisted some of my talented home styling friends to share a few pillow filled spaces. I love seeing the way they mix pillows in different spaces of their homes! Be sure to check out their instagram feeds for more amazing inspiration for all your home decor needs!
First up is Erin from The Heart and Haven
I love how Erin layers her throw pillows and also mixes patterns in similar color families. Her style is everything I love. A little boho, modern , casual & cool.
Erin’s mix of stripes here is so fun and even though they are different colors they work really well together because everything else in the space is very neutral. I love how she got creative here and mixed vertical with horizontal stripes too!
Bed making goals! I love the 3 :2 combo of 3 large pillows in a pattern with two smaller ones in front with a more solid & basic one. SO gorgeous!
Next is Sarah of Sarah.g.johnson
Sarah has an effortless way of mixing neutrals with gorgeous texture in her home. She often supports small shops and buys covers that can swap out in any space. I love Sarah’s entire home!
The mixing of texture in both photos is so beautiful! The faux leather and suble print in the photo below is gorgeous and i love how the terra cotta planter pulls from the cover!
